The ACS Reassessment & Renewal is for experienced gas engineers (Category 1) with robust skills and knowledge of the gas industry.
Who is this course for?
Every five years, anyone working within the gas industry must renew their qualifications (CCN1, CPA1, CENWAT, HTR1, and CKR1) with the ACS Reassessment & Renewal – a legal requirement by the industry regulators, Gas Safe Register.
During this course, gas engineers recap any new rules and regulations that have come into effect over the past 5 years and must demonstrate their competency across all other areas of working in the gas industry. Gas engineers can also add on further appliances via this route. ACS Reassessment criteria is a mixture of theory and practical knowledge put to the test, effectively proving that the kind of work carried out every day is correct and safe.
If a gas engineer’s qualifications have been expired for more than 12 months, they are no longer Category 1 and must undertake an ACS Initial Assessment instead.
Why train with us?
If a gas engineer’s qualifications are due to expire within the next 6 months, they can undertake the ACS Reassessment any time within the 6 months leading up to the day of expiration, but booking in advance in plenty of time is recommended to ensure the new certificate is processed by the time the existing one expires. No matter when a gas engineer takes their reassessment, they are always requalified from the original date of becoming qualified (the one on their gas safe registration profile) so there is never any time lost.
We like to ensure all of our courses are simple and straightforward, and therefore we always include everything in the price. The VAT, reassessment, and cost of the certificate are all covered in the price (displayed on the Course Details page.)
