About This Course

This regulated qualification is for learners that wish to demonstrate their knowledge in the Periodic Inspection Testing and Condition Reporting of electrical installation systems in the UK.

This qualification has been designed to incorporate BS7671:2018 Amendment (2022).

The qualification is based primarily on BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and IET Guidance Note 3 and is part of a suite of electrical qualifications including 18th Edition, Initial Verification, and a combined Initial Verification and Periodic Inspection (Condition Reporting) qualification.

Our students complete an intensive 1 Days training course:

  • Understand the requirements for completing the safe isolation of electrical circuits and installations
  • Understand the requirements for the use of test instruments used to carry out inspection and testing of electrical installations
  • Understand the requirements for completing the inspection of electrical installations
  • Understand the requirements for testing before circuits are energised
  • Understand the requirements for testing energised installations
  • Understand the requirements for periodic inspecting and testing of electrical installations.
  • Understand the requirements for the completion of electrical installation condition reports and associated documentation.
  • Be able to confirm safe systems of work and the suitability of the electrical installation for periodic inspection and testing.
  • Be able to carry out testing of electrical installations
  • Be able to complete and report the condition of the electrical installation to the client.

Assessment through work performance activities and written

Prerequisites

There are no formal prerequisites to this qualification but it is recommended that learners should have suitable knowledge of electrical theory and ideally be working within the electrical or a related industry. Learners should contact their local centre for further advice and guidance on suitability to undertake the qualification.
