This qualification relates to the requirements of electrical installations and is designed to enable learners to demonstrate knowledge of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, BS 7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations. It may be required for electrical operatives joining Electrical Registration Bodies, Competent Person Schemes, or the Microgeneration Certification Scheme.
This regulated qualification allows learners to demonstrate knowledge of the scope, object, and fundamental principles of BS 7671, definitions, how to assess general characteristics of electrical installations, and requirements for protection for safety of electrical installations.

Learners will know the requirements for selection and erection of equipment for electrical installations, and for inspection and testing of electrical installations. Learners will also be able to demonstrate knowledge of the requirements for special installations and locations identified in BS 7671, the information in Part 8, and the appendices of BS 7671.
There are no pre-requisites for learners to enrol on to the qualification.
