To enrol on this qualification, learners must meet one of the following requirements:

• Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in:
  • Plumbing
  • Heating & Ventilating (Domestic, Industrial or Commercial)
  • Gas Installation & Maintenance
  • Oil-Fired Technical Services
• OR be an experienced heating installer with proven competence in the installation of wet central heating systems (e.g. Gas Safe, OFTEC, MCS or HETAS registered).

In addition, learners should hold current certification in:

• Water Regulations/Water Bylaws
• G3 Unvented Hot Water Systems (Approved Document G3), where applicable

Please note: This qualification covers the installation and maintenance of air source heat pump systems (non-refrigerant circuits only). It does not permit work on refrigerant circuits. Anyone carrying out refrigerant handling, commissioning, leak testing or servicing of refrigerant systems must also hold the appropriate F-Gas/Refrigerant Handling qualification
